  4. Punt, Pass & Kick Contest

    August 25, 3:00 PM @ La Vista Sports Complex

    Sarpy County Tourism, the La Vista Recreation Department and the Papillion-La Vista Optimist Club is sponsoring a free Punt, Pass & Kick contest at the La Vista Sports Complex, south of 66th and Harrison. Girls and boys will compete in the following age divisions (as of 12/31/18): 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15. The winner of each age division will be determined by the cumulative score of the three skills - punting, passing and kicking. Winners will qualify for the state competition on Sunday, October 14, at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln! NO CLEATS ALLOWED. Register online at www.cityoflavista.org/PPK through August 23 or in-person the day of the event.

  7. Little Genius Program

    A program to help young minds explore, learn, and grow through books, activities, and more. Activities will be developmentally appropriate and hit eight different learning objectives such as fine motor skills and gross motor skills. All adults will receive activity cards to help continue the learning and fun at home. Any child that attends six or more classes will receive a FREE book at the end. This new program is ideal for children birth-5 and will require the help of an adult caregiver.

    It’s part story time, part music class, part play group and all fun! Our baby sign and play class is designed for parents and caregivers to learn helpful ASL signs to use with babies and toddlers while singing, dancing, and playing with the little ones in their life. Older siblings who want to learn to sign with the baby in their family, or who just want to sing and play with us, are most welcome! Registration is not required. Ideal for children 6 weeks-24 months.
