Planning Department COVID-19 Information

In a continued effort to contain the spread of the Coronavirus, effective immediately, the City of La Vista is restricting public access to all City buildings including the Community Development office.

Community Development staff will still be answering phones during normal business hours, but walk-ins will not be allowed.

Please submit all applications digitally, if possible, by e-mail or by fax (402-593-6445). If you have physical building plans or materials samples that must be submitted in-person, please give us a call ahead of time to arrange a drop-off.

Department Overview
 
The Planning Department provides development and land-use regulation and services through plan review, construction, property inspection, and enforcement. Employees of this department also provide staff support services to the Planning Commission. 


Primary Goals 
  • Ensure that physical development of the community is accomplished according to the codes, ordinances, and plans adopted by the City Council. 
  • Ensure that all properties in the city are maintained according to the codes and ordinances adopted by the City Council.
