Borrowing Information
- Books are checked out for 3 weeks and can be renewed once for an additional 3 weeks.
- New Books are checked out for 2 weeks and cannot be renewed so that others can have access to the new material.
- Audio Books are checked out for 2 weeks and cannot be renewed.
- Cassettes are checked out for 2 weeks and can be renewed.
- CDs are checked out for 2 weeks and cannot be renewed.
- DVDs are checked out for 7 days and cannot be renewed.
- Video Tapes are checked out for 7 days and cannot be renewed.
- Periodicals or Magazines are checked out for 3 weeks and can be renewed.
Renewal Policy
- Materials can be renewed once by calling the library. No renewals on Video Tapes, DVDs Audio Books, CD Books, or items on reserve.
Overdue Fines
- Books and periodicals: 5 cents per day
- Audio Books and Cassettes: $1.00 per day
- CDs: $1.00 per day
- Video Tapes: $1.00 per day
- DVDs: $1.00 per day
Internet Policy
- The La Vista Public Library does not monitor, and has no control over, information accessed through the Internet and cannot be responsible for its content. As with all other library materials, children’s access to the Internet is the sole responsibility of the child’s parent or guardian.
Library Cards
- It is necessary to have a valid library card in order to check out materials and use the computer lab. Residents of the City of La Vista are taxed for library services and receive a borrower’s card without an additional charge.
- People who live outside the city limits are not taxed for library services, but are welcome to join the library by paying a $50 family non-resident annual fee. Library cards will be issued to all adults 16 and older and minor children ages 8-15 with parental consent.
