Streetscape

Lrendering1a Vista is in the midst of redevelopment along the 84th Street corridor.

A vision plan for 84th Street proposed a corridor with a distinct identity, a rich mix of uses and destinations, and a sense of community and high quality of life.

That vision is becoming reality and it’s time to start the next steps with the first construction stages of the City’s Streetscape Plan.

The plan includes design elements such as benches, landscaping, signage, wayfinding and lighting. The Streetscape Plan focuses on the corridor’s right-of-way, the space between the road and private property, from Harrison Street to Giles Road.

Streetscape Plan

The plan is an important component of the overall vision for 84th Street because it will assist in the authentic expression of La Vista’s identity while creating a connection between the east and west sides as well as a sense of place for one of the City’s main north/south corridors.

84th Street Adaptive Traffic Signals

The City of Omaha led a project to install adaptive traffic signals along the 84th Street corridor from Papillion through Omaha. These adaptive traffic signals are interconnected and allow traffic to flow better along the entire corridor using updated technology. Installation along La Vista’s stretch of 84th Street began in April 2019 and was complete in December 2019.
