Once known as the Golden Mile, La Vista's 84th Street corridor was the economic center of the City, but departures of big business tenants led to vacant retail spaces and the eventual disrepair of various properties. In response, the City of La Vista launched a planning and community engagement effort, from which came the Vision 84 plan.
Years later, with various planning tools at its disposal and a proposed project from a developer, the vision started to become reality as the City began redevelopment of the corridor. Significant City investment in public infrastructure using various economic development tools authorized by La Vista voters has catalyzed growth and positioned the community as a regional destination.
Clearly A LOT can happen in a one-mile stretch of road and this section of our website is dedicated to documenting it and communicating any new information about coming projects.
